Here is the obituary for his son. The second appears to be a paid announcement
NADL 26 Nov 1862 p2 c3: Scalded to Death—Darius Genung, son of Mr. Augustus Genung, while at work at the shingle manufactory in the upper end of the city, met his death yesterday evening in a most horrible manner. He fell into a tank of boiling water in the factory, about 6 o'clock in the evening, and his flesh was literally boiled upon his bones. He survived his terrible injuries, strange to say, until about one o'clock this morning, when death put an end to his sufferings.
NADL 26 Nov 1862 p2 c5: Died, in this city, Nov. 25, Darius Genung, in the fourteenth year of his age. The funeral will take place tomorrow (Thursday) morning, from the residence of his father, on Upper Main between Eleventh and Twelfth streets. The friends of the family are invited to attend.
