Slate was about equally distant from Vernon, Crotherville, and Dupont, in Marion township. A little northeast of Hardy Lake recreation area where North Indiana 3 meets West Indiana 250.

Does anyone know where Slate Indiana was located. I see on a census record for Jennings County it is listed as a Postoffice? I have a Wedding announcement and another paper mentioning Slate but have not been able to find where it was located. I am researching the Well's family in that area.
