A Larkin Lankford gave affidavit of the Crawford County residences of Westley/Wesley Smith & Nancy Goolman/Goldman on their marriage license, issued November 1849. Don't know if he was related to the Goldman or Smith families or not. I just found the info today. Perhaps it will give you some hint to help in your research.

Good luck!

Hello:
I have collected some information about the Lankford's, I have distant connections to the family through several marriages. The earliest is Larkin Lankford,Sr.(?) who married Rachel Tucker in 1797 in Shelby Co,KY. Rachel was sister to my 5th Great Grandmother Elizabeth Tucker.

I think most of Larkin and Rachel's children moved to Crawford County, so I'm sure there is a strong chance you are a descendent. I have found other Larkin descendents on the Rootsweb.com Message Board for Crawford County, you might try searching the board and posting a query there as well.

I am anxious to hear from anyone who has information on my ancestors, who include Charles W. Lankford, Sr., born in English on November 23, 1895, and died Louisville, Kentucky in 1961. His father is believed to be James Lankford, date and place of birth unkown, occupation farmer and possibly schoolteacher in English, and date of death unknown but at an age of approximately 40; his place of death is believed to be St. Louis, Missouri. James Lankford had several other children, named: Jesse, Edward, Russell, Irene and Amy. Please contact Jefferson Lankford at this email: sidebar@cox.net
