Thank you so much for that info. I'll check out the link. It's kind of confusing where and when the County lines began changing. I appreciate your answer.

This is the earliest census I could find for Kentucky.1810 KY census
John Bell Bullitt County males
2- under 10 years old, 1- of 10 and under 16,
1- of 16 and under 26
1-Under 10 years of age, 1- of 16 and under 26
This is PART of what the website says.
Formation of Kentucky County, Va
In 1777 Fincastle County, Virginia's General Assembly divided Fincastle County into three parts and created Washington, Montgomery, and Kentucky Counties.
In 1780, Kentucky County was divided into three counties -- Jefferson, Fayette, and Lincoln. Within just a few years, six more counties had been carved out of those three. And on 1 June 1792, those nine counties became a state.
If you go to the above webpage, you will find a progression of counties from the original three Virginia counties.

Does anyone have any information regarding any Bells that may have lived in Bullitt Co.KY in the middle to late 1780's? It was probably either Jefferson or Nelson Co. at that time period. Looking, in particular, for John Bell and family. The family later lived in Hardin Co,Ky.
