By Don E. Gottschalk (70.239.210.11) on Sunday, January 29, 2006 - 01:02 pm:

William Chandler Sr. was born in Virginia around 1751. Pension records show he served three years and six months in the 10 Virginia Regiment starting in 1776. He later moved to Garrard Co. Kentucky where in 1818 he applied for a pension. In 1820 pension records he was in Madison Co. Ky. and in 1822 they indicate he moved with family to Zwitzerland Co, Indiana. No record has been found of him until a D.A.R. posting showing his death in 1837 in Orange Co. Indiana and burial in Danners Cemetery in Stampers Creek Township. Any information or connections to him would be greatly appreciated. His son William Jr. settled in Bartholomew co. Ind. and his grandson Mathew Chandler served in the Civil War and later moved to Audrain Co. Missouri.
