The Strong or Crawford Cemetery is located on top of the Ohio River hills one
mile above Rosewood in Taylor Township, Harrison County, Indiana, in the
southwest quarter of Section 23, Township 5 south, Range 5 east. This

"Ann Reader Sampson was buried in this cemetery between 1898-1900, her grave was
robbed by James Arnold and Peter De Alus, taken to Arnold’s home at Rosewood,
they put the body in Iron Kettle and cooked the flesh off the skeleton they kept
the skelleton, they were trying to be Doctors, but they left the country fast."

Elleanor (Eleanor or Ellen) Carter above was born Eleanor Lemmon.
The five Carter children listed above were children of Francis Marion Carter (a
son of William D. and Eleanor Lemmon Carter) and Ellen Strong, a daughter of
Thomas and Margaret Strong. Margaret was born Margaret Coons.
