Thanks for the tip---I will search in that manner. It is so confusing when everyone names their child for a brother, uncle, or some other relative with the same name.

I am having similar problems in my search for an Augusta McKinley and am beginning to wonder if she had a different first name than my mom gave me. Maybe your Thomas Brinson was Thomas Joseph Brinson, I would look for him like that and see what happens. Good Luck

Still can't find out for sure who was Louis Brinson's father. Statement in his own handwriting said it was a THOMAS BRINSONand that his mother was Martha Brown. But records in Jefferson Co. IN just across the Ohio River from Locust, Carroll Co. KY where he was born on Dec. 6, 1879 say that Martha Brown married JOSEPH BRINSON in Jan. 1879. Supposedly Louis' father died three weeks prior to his birth. I can find no records of Louis' birth or a Joseph Brinson's death in 1879.
