Hello Jack, Just a thought for you: Dicy is my great, great grandmother. I too have stopped short at this line. The Grigsby line splits from Virginia to Tenessee, via John Grigsby, and his brother Thomas Grigsby, whose family moved to Kentucky.

I know there is some distance in generations, but is there any chance that the line of Polks you're looking for is from Tenessee? I've been told I'm related to President James K. Polk, of TN, but that could be family lore.

My "Brick Wall" is trying to find the parents of Dica or Dicy POLK or PAULK. I do know she was born in Indiana January 7, 1822.
She married Alexander POSTON in Wapello County, Iowa December 19, 1847.
