My name is John Carson. I live in north central Ohio. My mother grew up in Louisville and her maternal grandfather was Nicholas Rice Peckinpaugh. He lived in southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. President Benjamin Harrison appointed him clerk of courts for the territory of Alaska. During his term of office, the territorial governorship became vacant and he briefly took on that job as well. I donated a letter from Alaska that he wrote (on cloth) to his family to the museum in Evansville. I would be interested in hearing from any other relatives of Nicholas Rice Peckinpaugh. My email address is j2scarson@hotmail.com
