My great grandparents on the Clark side were James Clark, born 1789, and Elizabeth Ladd. They were married in morgan county ind. on 24,Feb.1826.
They had at least one child, my grandfather Thomas C. Clark. Thomas C. Clark had at least ten children, one of whom was my father Oscar Clark.Thomas C. Clark married Laura Marten. I believe they settled somewhere in Nebraska. But I really need info on James Clark and Elizabeth Ladd, I know nothing except what I just stated.

I am searching for Thomas CLARK, born 1763, NC. His family removed from NC to TN then to Clay Co KY and Thomas cannot be found after abt 1819.

Thomas was a justice of the peace for Clay County and as such performed marriages.

The US Census for Clay Co KY in 1810 lists Thomas as over 45 (born before 1765) and his wife is between 26 and 45 (born 1765 to 1784). They have one male 10 to 16 (born 1794 to 1800), 3 males under 10 (born 1800 to 1810), 1 female 10 to 16 (born 1794 to 1800), and 1 female under 10 (born 1800 to 1810).

Following the death of his father in 1819, Thomas sold his land to John Gilbert and moved to an unknown location.

This would fit with William and Rebecca leaving for Indiana.

If anyone has information re this family I sure would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

His daughter, Sarah CLARK married Elijah SMALLWOOD and is found in Washington Co., IN census report for 1820.

His daughter, Mary CLARK married William SMALLWOOD.

Brothers Elijah and William SMALLWOOD and their families then left for Hall Co GA

I will be happy to exchange information re this family.
