There is a signed copy of a marriage certificate from Nicholas Co., KY certifying that Jacob Clark married Dorcas Fife April 23, 1815. Married by Daniel Anderson, Marriage Book A, page 10.
Jacob Clark may have lived at one time in Parke Co., IN, Bureau and Logan Counties, IL. This could mean that Dorcas may be buried in any one of these places.
NOTE: 1850 CENSUS FOR PARKE CO., IN HAS JACOB & DORCAS LIVING THERE (in District 85).
Does anyone have anything on the years that Jacob
was married to Dorcas Fife? My family legend has
it that his whole name was John Jacob Clark. That
he was the son of Benjamin Clark and Rachel Waters
of Prince George Co., MD. Jacob and Dorcas were
also supposed to have had twelve children, some of
which are: John P., Elizabeth, James H., Mary J.,
Samuel G., John M., Addison, Cyntha Ann.
