I would like to communicate with anyone who has done extensive research on one or more of the families with roots in Harrison County who have "Hays" heritage. I am particularly tracking the descendants of John Hays (1829-1903) and his wife, Melissa Jacobs (1831-1909 through 11 children who married and have descendants. I am also tracking the descendants of Harvey Homer Hays, Sr. and his wife, Mary Jane Jacobs (1826?-????) through five identified children. While I have identified many descendants from these lines, there are still many missing people and missing data on identified people.

Hi! I am trying to research my father's family. We spell our name Hayes, but I am having no luck. I am curious about your line as the Mary Jane name turns up at least 2 times in my family. Have you any information that might help me? My gggf was Green(e) Hayes or Hays and his wife was Mary Jane McCraney.

Hi! I am trying to research my father's family. I know we have family that came from Ireland to kentucky. Story goes two brothers came over and one decided to settle in Kentucky and the other came down to Alabama to settle. We spell our name Hays. But some whom are kin spell it Hayes. John Hays of shannon and guntown Mississippi is my great grandads name. Not sure when he died.
