Kentuckiana Genealogy: Old Guestbook Entries: John Finley Patterson

I am looking for any information with regard to my Great Great Grandfather, John Finley Patterson. He served in the Civil War in Co A of the 49th Indiana Infantry, mustering in in Dubois County. He is buried in Wayne county Illinois on 3/22/1908, but was not born there. He was born on August 2, 1842. He could have been born just about anywhere in the Southern Indiana, or Northern Kentucky area. I have been told that his father's name was Robert, and that he came from one of the counties north of Lexington. Thanks for providing the nice website, and hopefully a lead that will help me find my family.
