I am researching the Borden Family from Harrison Co., IN

This family includes Jonathon Borden, who came to Indiana ca. 1805 from
Shenendoah Co., VA. Wife was Mary Magdolin ?
Some children (I'm sure there were more) were:
1. Levi Borden b. 1811 m. Abeline GILMORE in Harrison Co., IN 1840
2. Catherine
3. Magdolin b. ca. 1829
4. Jonathon b. ca. 1832

Does anyone have any information on this family?

Thanks for any help!

Dee

I have on loan from the Washington Co. library the following books and I
can do look-ups:

History of Washington County 1916-1976
This book has many pre 1916 families! I took two of my lines
back four generations with this book...in some cases it even gives
the sources of information.

The following aren't limited to Washington Co.

2. Biographical and Historical Sketches of Early Indiana

3. Indiana in the Civil War Era

4. Indiana to 1816

I have these books for about two more weeks....

Thanks,

Dee

Hi everyone!
I went to a booksale at the Corydon library today and got my hands on
the "Purdue University Alumni Record-1924"
This book has records on MANY Purdue graduates. Some born as early as
1830 (maybe earlier, that's the earliest I saw)
there are small biographical sketches on most everyone. I noticed MANY
people were from the Kentuckiana area.

I can do look ups from this book...

Thanks,

Hi everyone!

I want to tell everyone about this new project I am a part of and ask
everyone to please consider giving some of your time to help.

This project is a part of the US Biography project started by Jeff
Murphy. What I am needing right now are people who are willing to
locate the books with biographies that aren't protected by copyright law
(pre-1922) and from those books type out the biographies and send them
to me to be posted. If anyone already has biographies posted I would
appreciate it if you would give me permission to copy and paste to my
site. I would, of course, give credit, and a link to their site from
each biography donated. The only things other than the biographies that
I will need is the name of the book, author and copyright date.

Take a look at the site at:
http://www.aye.net/~dee1234/indybios/inbio2.html

There are no biographies listed yet, that's why I am begging ;-)
for help!

Later on as the project grows I'm sure I will be in need of an assistant
coordinator, and maybe break up the counties and have county
coordinators, but that's down the road.

Thanks to any and all who can help out with this!

Hi everyone!

It is very possible that they could be talking about this area. Right
now we have the "Falls of the Ohio" right here. If they say "at the Ohio
Falls" they are probably speaking of the area around the Falls of the
Ohio. As to a town by that name, I've never heard of one.

I'll try to do some digging in my books and see if I can find anything
else!

Thanks,

Dee

I just wanted to take a minute to tell everyone how happy I am to be a
part of this mailing list.

Some mistakes have been made (I made a few myself) that would've caused
flame wars had it been on a few of the other lists I can think of. But
not one flame came through the list! And there were no private flames
that I'm aware of.

Everyone on this list has done everything they can to help when asked.

You guys and gals are all wonderful! I just wanted to take a minute to
thank you all!

Hi everybody!

It looks the majority of you have written to me....
and it looks like we will be having a roll call....

I have had a few wonderful suggestions...this seems to be the best way
to do it:

We will have roll call for two days....October 4th and 5th

The Counties that this list cover are: Indiana; Clark, Crawford, Dubois,
Floyd, Harrison, Orange, Perry, Scott, Washington....
in Kentucky: Breckinridge, Hardin, Jefferson and Meade

Our posts should have a connection to any of these counties.

I'm not going to ask anyone to keep it short....that's impossible, but
no gedcoms (don't even try, it won't work, the mailing list will spit it
back out at you ;-)

Waiting until the weekend gives many of us the much needed time to get
our information together and be able to put together a better list of
information.

If you're new to this and aren't sure what to do, you can e-mail me
privately and I'll explain it a little more, or just wait till a few
have went through and go by what they have sent.

Thanks,

Dee Floyd-Pavey
