This may be 3 separate BAKER families.
1) Jefferson Baker
2) Margaret Baker Shipp (his wife)
3) Wm Baker (brother in law of Margaret & married to her sister)
Anyone got a Jefferson BAKER b. about 1806 Ky md in Orange Co. Indiana
to Margaret BAKER SHIPP? Seeking his parents and siblings as a link to
my Wm Baker b. 1793 Ky. They were in the 1850 Orange Co Ind. Census.
with 4 girls from Margaret's first marriage to Ambrose Shipp and two sons
of Jefferson & Margaret
Elizabeth Shipp b. 1833
Harriet J. Shipp b. 1834 Wm C Baker b. 1839
Susannah Shipp b. 1835 Frederick H. Baker b.

Mary E. Shipp b. 1836
Where did Jefferson and Margaret go after 1850? What happened to their
children?

BAKER, BAKER are my surnames definitely from Green Co. Ky and Orange Co
Indiana
First BAKER family is of German descent
Frederick and Elizabeth ____ Baker who were in Green Co Ky census in
1810, but who
were also in Green prior to 1800. Frederick was b. abt 1768 supposedly on
a man o war ship from
Germany. 1850 Ind census shows Va. They were md abt 1790-3 prob. Ky.
Moved to Orange Co Indiana from Green Co. abt 1815 both died in Orange Co.
Ind.

Elizabeth b. abt 1793 md Wm BAKER (second Ky line of BAKERS) prob. md in
Ky abt 1814/5 to Ind.
John b. 1795 md 1823 Anna IRVINE Ind
Mary b. 1790-1800 md James R. FIPPS
Sarah b. 1800 md Levi GIFFORD 1824 Ind
William b. 1804 md Harriet COWHERD 1825 & Eliza SPEER 1844 Ind
Margaret b. 1806 md Ambrose SHIPP 1832 & Jefferson BAKER (a poss. 3rd
collateral line or perhaps Wm's brother?) Ind
Nancy md Allan FITZGERALD 1832 Ind
Second BAKER family. Probably of English Descent
William b. 1793 Ky md Elizabeth BAKER d/o Fred and Elizabeth above. Wm
may be from Cumberland Co. Ky but this is not proven.
Wm and Elizabeth BAKER BAKER founded Freeport, Stephenson Co. Illinois
Third BAKER of interest in that he may be Wm's brother or cousin Is
Jefferson BAKER md to Margaret
BAKER SHIPP in Orange Co. Ind.
