Born Alton, Crawford County, Indiana

Marie M. Farris, 72, 715 North St., died Sunday at 2:50 p.m. at Chase Center.

Born July 27, 1910, she was the daughter of William Albert and Edna Ormenta Kemp Ridge. On April 9, 1928, she was married to James Edward Farris, who preceded her in death in 1977. A homemaker, she was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by five daughters, Wilma Acheson, Rt. 2; Evelyn Hettinger, 715 North St.; Alice Shaffer, Rt. 2, Ruth Shaffer, Rt. 2; and Iva Smith, Pompano Beach, Fla.; three sons, Bill, Royal Center; Frank, Indianapolis; and Gary, 529 Bates St.; 25 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Marocco Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
