Kemp, Anna Ellen
Died August 31, 1948, New Albany, Indiana.

New Albany - Anna Ellen, daughter of Theodore and Eliza -- was born August 1, 1879, and died August 31, at the age of 69 years.

She was married to Jacob Kemp on December 27, 1905. To this union three children were born. A daughter, Bessie, preceded her in death, in August 1925.

With her companion, she moved from Crawford County to New Albany about 11 years ago.

Survivors are her husband, a daughter, Mrs Evelyn Barth; a son Seigel Kemp, of New Albany, seven grandchildren, a niece Cleda Stephenson, and a nephew, Harvey Bowman, of Iowa, who had arrived for an extended visit about two hours before her unexpected death.

She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized, uniting with the Christian Church at El Bethel.

She was a loving wife, a devoted companion, an affectionate mother and a good neighbor. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Should you go first and I remain, To walk the road alone, I'll live in memorys garden, dear, With happy days we've known. Should you go first and I remain, Though blindly I may grope, The memory of your helping hand Will buoy me on with hope. Should you go first and I remain, One thing I'd have you do: Walk slowly down the path of death, For soon I'll follow you. I'll want to know each step you take, That I may walk the same, For some day down that lonely road, You'll hear me call your name.

Services were conducted by the Rev Mr Crowe of the Park Christian Church of New Albany. Burial was in the El Bethel cemetery.
