He had several family members with him and they dispersed along the way. His son, William Frank Murphy had a homestead in Larue Co, KY. He married Mary Elizabeth Clark (supposedly related to the Clark of Lewis & Clark) in 1874. Their children all left the area, including William and Mary Elizabeth, as that I cannot find their graves anywhere. One of William’s sons is Louis Murphy who was given 100 acres of land in Clark County, IN from his dad. That tells me William & Mary Elizabeth somehow landed there. Still no records found yet. I do find a couple of graves of other of William’s children but not much else in the way of him or Mary Elizabeth. Louis Murphy is my grandfather. Just wanted to post this data I have in hopes that it might work into someone else’s tree. Anyone with any information on any of these names is welcome to share what they have anytime. I’m thirsting for clues.
