He was the son of Stephen and Mary<br>Ann (Lawson) Jenner. He learned Harness making and Blacksmithing. He served in the Federal Army and<br>was Sergeant-Major in the 53rd Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He served three years and eight months, then<br>farmed and taught school for four years. He practiced dentistry for over 17 years and was elected Justice<br>of the peace in 1880. He married Sallie J.
