His disease was softening of the brain. He was born in Vermont, was a member of both the Masonic and Odd Fellows Fraternities, and will be buried by these orders on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Press\u201417 Mar 1886 p7 c4<br><strong>Alfred Buss<\/strong>, aged 77 years, died at his home in Galena, on Monday last of softening of the brain, he was born in Vermont and had lived at Galena about eleven years. He was a Mason and Odd Fellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Albany Daily Ledger&nbsp;30 Jul 1892 p5 c2<br>On the evening of the 29th, near Galena,&nbsp;<strong>Mrs. Alfred Buss<\/strong>, aged 80 years, died after a long illness. Buss<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Died Sunday Night in Greenville Township of Pneumonia<\/strong><br><strong>At His Death Bed His Daughter is Married<\/strong><br><strong>George H. Buss<\/strong>, an old resident of Greenville township and a veteran of the civil war, died at his home in that township Sunday midnight of pneumonia, after a week\u2019s illness, aged sixty years. He served in the Twelfth Kentucky Infantry. He was an Odd Fellow, and his funeral, Tuesday, was under the direction of Galena Lodge I. O. O. F.<br>He is survived by his wife and three children, the children being&nbsp;<strong>Mrs. Hugo Tafel<\/strong>, 224 East Oak street, Silver Grove suburb, this city;&nbsp;<strong>Mrs. Edward Madlung<\/strong>, Galena, and&nbsp;<strong>Otto Buss<\/strong>, residing at his father\u2019s home.<br>On Saturday, December 23, Mr.&nbsp;<strong>Edward Madlung<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Miss Edith Buss<\/strong>, a daughter of deceased, procured marriage license of Deputy County clerk,&nbsp;<strong>William F. Ruoff<\/strong>, and were to have been married on Christmas day. But the condition of the bride\u2019s father became so serious on Sunday that he asked that the marriage be performed at once. The&nbsp;<strong>Rev. Lyman C. Murr<\/strong>, pastor of the M. E. church at Greenville, was immediately sent for, and by the bedside of the dying father he united in marriage the daughter,&nbsp;<strong>Miss Edith Buss<\/strong>, and Mr.&nbsp;<strong>Edward Madlung<\/strong>. The father pronounced his blessing upon the young couple and then grew weaker under his sufferings until death called him to rest and reward at midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Albany Weekly Ledger&nbsp;28 Nov 1930 p5 c4<br>Funeral services for&nbsp;<strong>Mrs. Peninah L. Buss<\/strong>, 84 years old, widow of&nbsp;<strong>George Buss<\/strong>, 2225 East Oak Street, were held Sunday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Burial was in the Galena Cemetery. She died Saturday. Survivors are a son,&nbsp;<strong>Dr. L. A. Buss<\/strong>, of Lafayette and a daughter,&nbsp;<strong>Mrs. Edith B.
