Pritchett<\/strong>&nbsp;was born in Harrison County, Ind., Nov. 20, 1844, and came to Floyd county, Indiana in 1886. His father,&nbsp;<strong>John L. Pritchett<\/strong>&nbsp;is deceased, but his mother,&nbsp;<strong>Margaret (Jones) Pritchett<\/strong>&nbsp;who was born in 1822 is still living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first wife of Mr. Pritchett was named&nbsp;<strong>Addie L. Stoddard<\/strong>&nbsp;and their children are three:&nbsp;<strong>Mattie T., Maude E.<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Edward M.<\/strong>, deceased. She was born in Olden, Ky. [sic] in 1846. They were married in KY, in 1869 and she passed from life Sept. 5, 1891. His second wife, whom he married in Corydon, Indiana, December 1894 was&nbsp;<strong>Rosalthea (Keithly) Davis<\/strong>. She was born in Georgetown, Ind., in 1847, and was a daughter of&nbsp;<strong>John W.<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Minerva (Lynn) Keithly<\/strong>, the former deceased, the latter is still spared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comrade&nbsp;<strong>Pritchett<\/strong>&nbsp;served in the Union army as a private in Co., A, 9th Ky. Cav. He was engaged in farming when he was enrolled Aug. 10, 1862, at Louisville, Ky., for one year. He was not in hospital, although he was treated in Qtrs., for rheumatism, diarrhea and piles and is still a sufferer from same. July, 1863, he was captured near Cheshire, O., by six of Morgan&#8217;s men, after an hour&#8217;s parley, he led captors into the Union lines and delivered them to&nbsp;<strong>Col. Jacobs<\/strong>&nbsp;of 9th Ky. Cav. He fought at Richmond, Perryville, Burkesville, Lawrenceburg, Middletown, Columbia, Cumberland River, Dog Walk, Marrowbone and numerous skirmishes. He was honorably discharged Sept. 10, 1863 at Eminence, Ky., at expiration time. He had two brothers in the war,&nbsp;<strong>William<\/strong>&nbsp;in 71st Ind. F. I., and&nbsp;<strong>James<\/strong>&nbsp;in Co. A, 9th Ky. Cav., both were wounded and captured. His great-grandfather,&nbsp;<strong>Pritchett<\/strong>&nbsp;served in the Revolutionary War. His wife&#8217;s brother,&nbsp;<strong>Dell<\/strong>&nbsp;served in 66th Ind. V. I., and was wounded. Comrade&nbsp;<strong>Pritchett<\/strong>&nbsp;belongs to Branch Post 71, he is a farmer, and his address is Gelena, Ind.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John W.
