Murphy was born Nov. 6, 1851 and died December 1, 1908.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He joined the M. E. Church in the year 1872 and lived a Christian Life, a<br>devoted husband and a kind father until death he<br>was also a member of the Golden Cross Lodge. He was married to Nancy M.<br>Collings March 27, 1873; to this union were<br>born 9 children 5 boys and 4 girls and 15 grandchildren, all of whom survive<br>him except one grandchild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funeral services were held at the Scottsburg M. E. Church by Rev. W. H.<br>Tompson assisted by Rev. F. W. Davis and Rev.<br>W. A. Matthews.
