{"id":979,"date":"2025-05-19T02:26:36","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T02:26:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kentuckianagenealogy.org\/archives\/?p=979"},"modified":"2025-05-19T02:26:36","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T02:26:36","slug":"rogers-rodgers-dunston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentuckianagenealogy.org\/archives\/2025\/05\/19\/rogers-rodgers-dunston\/","title":{"rendered":"Rogers\/Rodgers, Dunston"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have discovered a clue about an ancestor, but it requires somebody checking the Jennings County court records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In The Executive Proceedings of Indiana, 1816-1836,(published by Indiana Historical Bureau in 1947), on page 347:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1829 Pardons and Remissions<br>Feb. 2 A fine against Robert RODGERS for $ ______ (MS is blank) upon conviction before John DUNSTON; a justice of the peace of Jennings County. is remitted&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[A footnote reads:]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A marginal notation in pencil reads &#8220;Vawter to pay.&#8221; The petitioner&#8217;s name appears as ROGERS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>End quote<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would like to find out what count Robert Rodgers\/Rogers was convicted upon. I am assuming that John Vawter was the man who paid for him.
