From 10 Dec 1942 Meade Co Messenger: Hyatt E Murphy age 70 died 5 Dec 1942 Paradise Bottom. A native of Wolf Creek, Meade Co had moved to Paradise Bottom some 25 years ago. A member of Bethel Chapel Methodist church, kindly neighbor and loyal frind. Married to Minnie Frances Popham 1900 who died within a year. In 1930 he married Mary Eliza Popham, a sister of his first wife, who survived him. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs C G Crecelius, two grandsons, Geo E Holloway & Alden Crecelius; brother Robert Lee Murphy of Wolf, Creek, one nephew, Chas H Thompson of Victorville, CA & niece Mrs Gertie Murphy Johnson of Huntinburg, Ind. Also an aged aunt, Fannie Alexander, who made her home with Hyatt. Interment in Peckinpaugh Cemetery.
Hyatt was son of Caro V (Alexander) Murphy & John B Murphy. She was dau of John B Alexander & John B Murphy was son of Wm B Murphy & Elizabeth (Hyatt).
