Sarah Barnett was born Nov 1821 in Indiana, she is the daughter of Jesse Barnett. Jesse was born 1800 in Lincoln Co. Kentucky he died 20 Jul 1892 in New Albany Floyd Co. Indiana, Sarah’s mother is Mary Stroud born 1800 in Raleigh North Carolina. There is some confusion on the birth of Jesse Barnett, some believe him to be the son of John Barnett (b 1743) who died 1816 in Harrison Co. Indiana and others believe he is the son of Alexander Barnett who is a son of the above John Barnett. John Barnett is the son of John Barnett (b 1705) & Mary Roan who are of the Scotch-Irish clan. They came into Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania from Temple Cathedral, Londonderry, Parish of Templemore, Ireland. John Barnett (b 1705) is the son of John Barnett & Jennette Powey or Powers. Jesse Barnett has two other children, Morgan Barnett who married Catherine E. Catlin and Elizabeth who married Samuel R. Bullington.
