McIntire

Robert McIntire was born in Chester Co. PA in 1766. Of Irish descent, a farmer and abolitionist. He lived in Jefferson Co. KY around 1800-1810, then removed to Washington Co. IN until around 1824. He was living in Fountain Co. IN when he died in 1846, while visiting his sons in Iowa. His wife was Mary?. His children were James, Hiram, Cyrus, Jefferson, Robert Jr, Polly, Margaret, Jane and America. He helped frame the State of Indiana Constitution and was a State legislator there. Fought at the Battle of Tippecanoe.
